LED Dance Floor

Illuminated dance floors are nothing new. In the seventies they where all the rage, the problem was that dancers flared hot pants would cover the floor panels and kill the effect. Now, flares or not, the illuminated dance floor is back, this time in LED form. Using the latest in pressure sensitive LED technology, these panels are designed to interact with club goers moves as well as D.J's sets. Special plug ins can be downloaded into the D.Js computer equipment allowing an entire set to be pre programmed where the music and lights work together. The panels are not restricted to work only on dance floors and can be fitted to walls, bar tops and Lionel Ritchie's favorite place to dance, ceilings.

Equally as popular are the silent disco parties. Originally developed in the Netherlands, the concept involves a DJ, numerous sets of wireless headphones and a huge number of people who are not afraid to look stupid. The concept is very unique and pretty funky, however if you happen to not be wearing a headset, you may think someone spiked your drink as you witness a lot of dancing and no music. The DJs tunes are broadcast on a particular frequency that only the party goers headsets can pick up. The company known as 433fm.com, came up with the concept in 2002 and say the aim is for people "to go off in silence".

Some sexy banner ads

That's right - even banner ads can be sexy (with the bonus of a product demonstration too). Thanks to AdRants for this post.

Zippo Banner Campaign Ingeniously Inventive
It's not often online banners excite. Gone are the days a banner would evoke anything other than "Will that friggin' thing stop flashing?!" But Pittsburgh agency Brunner has created an ingeniously inventive banner campaign for Zippo which makes humorous use of the product's primary function.
In three version, a skyscraper banner is cut in two. The top half is a fake ad. The bottom is the actual ad for Zippo. The top reacts to the bottom and then the two come together to deliver more information about the lighter. You can see the three versions
here, here and here.

Mobile Pop?

What do we all think of this? Can mobile phones really pop popcorn?

Some nice new agency sites

Stole this exert from Adage and their belated coverage of the new Hal Riney site. I personally love Modernista's appraoch. The Hal Riney stuff is smart and new, but kinds of sucks as a working interface

San Francisco ad agency Publicis & Hal Riney has redesigned its website to enable a mouse-free experience. The effort is one of a wave of newfangled agency websites launched in recent months, which include Modernista's Web 2.0 format and Barbarian Group's bloglike revamp. "We wanted to make the website as interesting as the work that was presented on it," said Rikesh Lal, Publicis & Hal Riney's interactive creative director and an AKQA veteran.
